The Mighty Panthers welcomed two new recruits this weekend and it only took 3 minutes before one of these new players, Ben L, contributed to a great team goal. Ben was a welcome site in the forward line this week alongside our other new Panther, Latoya.
Both players looked great in Winnacott colours.

Unfortunately we were missing the aggression and drive that Marley provides and Claire’s speed this weekend, but once again our Panthers turned up with the right attitude and some big smiley faces ready to the game.

Kai Berden was a standout performer and proudly took home the Tankk Fish & Chip award for best on ground. Kai was consistently at the bottom of the pack, tackling hard, flying for marks and even kicking goals. Kai’s performance served as a great example to the rest of the team of how to contest for the ball.

Our backline was held together by Tyler. Tyler may be one of the shorter Panthers but he has the biggest heart. Tyler copped some very heavy knocks, but he got up every time and went back in harder for the ball. He is great to watch as he takes on players much bigger and more often than not, wins these contests.

As always, players such as Jamahl, Archie and Riley were fantastic once again whilst Ben B and Kaiya provided some strong contests for the ball. Ollie W and Ollie D were great to watch and very dangerous with the ball in hand. Tom and Harvey (despite a broken finger) were our main goal kickers for the day whilst Sam laid one of the best tackles we’ve seen. And finally, a special mention to Deklen who played a great game on the last line of defence for us.

The Panthers are enjoying the year and are held together well by a bunch of dedicated parents. GO PANTHERS!
