Saturday 29th May

• Year 8 v Roleystone

This was a first for the Year 8’s to be playing an away game in the Hills.

The rain was steadily falling as we arrived for the warm up, but then became intermittent throughout the game.
Our boys got off to a quick lead, but the high number of scoring attempts that added points to the total are proof they were struggling to keep their balance and accuracy. The pace of the mid field kept us ahead at each break.
Roleystone came out reenergised in the third quarter with some precision marking and strong defensive tackles, but by then Winnacott had too large a lead and claimed another win.
Kats 11:21: 87 to Roleystone 0:2: 2
• Year 9 v Fremantle City Dockers
Up against quality opposition, it’s easy to see how this team sits joint leaders at the top of the table. Lots to learn and be taken away from this game for our boys to reflect on.
Kats 5.6.36 to Fremantle City Dockers 16.10.106

Sunday 30th May

• Year 4 Jaguars v East Fremantle

Zain is this weeks Best on Ground winner. Fantastic quality of disposal and played his position to perfection for 4 quarters.

• Year 9/10 Girls v Forrestdale

Great game by the girls.

After a wet start and being out scored in first quarter the girls rallied and evened up the contest winning the second and third quarters.
Forrestdale got three quick goals to start the last quarter and took the win.
Our girls are getting better every game and the team effort was outstanding.
Well done girls.
• Year 10 v Kardinya

The game was played in more wintery conditions with occasional showers on a waterlogged ground.

The boys made the most of the breeze in the first quarter to open up a 3+ goal lead and continued to stretch that margin at each change.
As per the previous weeks, players were rotated across the range of positions as we tried new midfield combinations and key forward personnel.
Unfortunately Kardinya suffered a couple of suspected concussions late in the game and we appreciate Ben Jenkins and Harvey Templeton’s offer to even up the numbers in Kardinya jumpers so the game could continue at 15 a-side.
Final score: Kats 16:15 (111) to Suns 6:4 (40)
Goals: Bailey (3), Henry, Lawson (2), Ky, Nathan, Harvey, Ben E, Sam, Nic, Luke, Alex and Zac (1)
• Year 11/12 v Applecross

The Kats met Applecross for the second time this season and played at the earlier time of 10.00am.

The Kats held a handy lead at each break and at 3/4 time were up by 23 points.
Applecross refused to give up and ended winning the game by one point.
Kats 6.9.45 to Applecross 6.10.46
Congratulations to Mitch who celebrated his 100th game of junior footy.
Goals – Taj, Liam P, Mitch, Callan and Tomas W.
