Guidelines to Play Up One Year Level/Age Group – Entire Season

All players wishing to ‘Play Up’ a year level/age group for an entire season must seek the approval of the club, prior to the commencement of the current season, to do so.

Players from a younger year level/age group will not be permitted to play up at the expense of players in the correct year level/ age group being allocated a position in the team. Each Play Up request is based and judged on each individuals merit and their teams circumstances.

For example a request to play up may be denied if the team in the age group that the player is eligible for is low on numbers and or the older age group has maximum or over maximum player numbers registered. All teams can only play a maximum of 25 players for any one game.

Permission to play up one season does not automatically  guarantee that the player will be allowed to play up again the following season. Requests to play up will be reviewed by the club every season.

Players must complete the Parental Consent/Permission to Play Up form and have it signed by a parent/guardian and Coach or Team Manager prior to the beginning of the season.

Players are only permitted to play up one year level/age group.

For players in the Fremantle Conference/Metro South competition, all applications to Play Up are subject to the approval of the Fremantle Conference Executive Committee, are only valid for the current football season and must comply with the Policies and Procedures of the Fremantle Conference.

All teams and players must abide by the by laws and any other rules or guidelines relating to Play Ups as set by the East Fremantle District, the Fremantle Conference/Metro South competition and the WA Football Commission, that apply to the current football season.

Guidelines to Play Up – Game Day

The management of younger players who may be required to ‘Play Up’ in the next year level is the responsibility of the Registrar, Coaches and Team Managers.

Players who ‘Play Up’ should be selected on a rotational basis. The same players from a lower year level are not tobe repeatedly selected or put forward  to ‘Play Up’. Where there are two or more teams in the lower year level who can provide players,  then the selection of players must include players from all teams. Players are only permitted to play up a total of four (4) games in any season.

The safety of all Winnacott players is first and foremost. Should the Coach be concerned that the safety of the younger player may be put at risk by ‘playing up’, then in consultation with both teams Coaches, Team Managers and the players parents, the player may be requested to wait until later in the season to ‘Play Up’ or not ‘Play Up’ at all. Parents and players must understand that the Coach’s decision is final.

Players are only permitted to play up one year level/age group.

Registered Auskick players are not permitted to play up in the Junior competition.

Players selected to ‘Play Up’ must complete the Parental Consent/Permission to Play Up form and have it signed by a parent/guardian and Coach or Team Manager prior to the beginning of the game.

Any disputes regarding ‘Play Ups’ should be directed to the Registrar and will be decided by the Registrar, President and Vice President.

All teams and players must abide by the by laws and any other rules or guidelines relating to Play Ups as set by the East Fremantle District, the Fremantle Conference/Metro South competition and the WA Football Commission, that apply to the current football season.
